The Museum of Fine Arts Eemil

The collections of the Museum of Fine Arts Eemil are based on sculptures and plaster and clay drafts of works by the renowned Finnish sculptor Eemil Halonen (1875–1950). The museum also preserves the heritage of other members of the Halonen family of artists. Around ten of Eemil Halonen’s siblings and cousins who were born between the 1860s and 1890s followed careers in painting, sculpture, the casting of artworks, crafts, music and theatre. They were involved in creating national identity for Finland and an independent nation.

On display at the Museum of Fine Arts Eemil are the collections exhibition and temporary exhibitions of Finnish contemporary art.
